We are now in our ninth year of timing races. Our timing software has evolved so that we can time anything from a 5K or cross country run to a 24 hour mountain bike event.
In order to have better control of data presentation and access to hardware of our choice we have developed our new RFID chip timing solution in-house. We use enterprise level hardware that is scalable to match your event.
Now in addition to bar code timing we offer RFID chip timing.
Now race promoters we can match the look and feel of your website.
See how our results display has evolved and what we are talking about here on our sample results page.
RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. It basically encompasses all electronic components that can transmit a unique code to a electronic reader using a particular carrier frequency. A typical RFID system consists of a reader, and antenna and a transponder.
In sports timing the transponder stays with the athlete and the reader and antenna combination or portal are stationed at a timing point. Racers run through the portal and the RFID reader captures the tag and time.
Splits can be captured by having a portal set up at the entrance and exit of the transition area or at any suitable location along the race course.
With the changing market of race timing, our disposable bib tag option for race directors gives us the ability to time large scale races.
Our RFID timing software allows for the tag to be attached to the back of the bib. The racer doesn't have to attach or remove the tag from the bib. This means less error when wearing and no collection of chips after the race.
