| RFID Development |
We started the development process to RFID tags. Our goal is to be able to either place the tag on the person or bike depending on the type of race. |

| RFID Equipment Ordered |
The RIFD equipment has been purchased and is on its way. The easy part is over. Integrating the timing software will be interesting. However, with the new RFID equipment results will be recorded as each racer crosses the finish line (without a chip or bar code bracelet).

| 24 Hours of Rocky Hill |
There were hundreds of racers from all over Texas and a large group from Mexico at this year 24 Hour of Rocky Hill.
Next Bike Race Before the next Dirty Dozen bike race will will have the system modified so that you can switch between lap time and elapsed time. This way you will be able to see how far ahead you are from the other teams.
Complements We received several compliments on the live race results like this one below from N. B. The bar codes were great, and the process at the 24hrs Rocky Hill was awesome. Especially LOVED the onsite real time scoring, in a pro style format on the computer. And from D.A. I thought the scanning system plus the live score board was excellent.
This is an ever evolving system and if there is something that you like to see or would like to have added give us a shout or drop us a line to let us know.

| Busy Month |
What a month so far! I have been making massive changes to the reporting of race results, building monitor stands for displaying race times and we still have two 24 hour races scheduled on back to back weekends. It has been crazy.
Race results posting makes a change: At the last Terra Firma race on September 19th we were able to give race times live on our big screen monitor and the racers really enjoyed being able to see results right away. Well at this race I have fabricated a monitor stand so that we can position the monitor away from the timing tables. It will have its own keyboard and mouse so that racers can navigate the results any ol’way there heart desires.
Race results report: The report now has drill downs. On the main page is the race category and teams with the lap times. When you click on a team it will display that teams riders and lap times. When you click on a rider you will see that riders lap and times.
I am excited about all of the changes, not because of the thousands of hours it took to develop, not because of the bloody fingers from typing, not because of the lost sleep and additional stress, but because teams will get live details of how the race is progressing. Its all about you BABY!

| Timing software update |
Big changes are in store compared to last years Terra Firma! We will have a large screen displaying results live. That's right - as your team passes through you will be able to see what your place is!
We will do a final test tonight at the course to make sure the race results files transfers to the internet correctly. YES - we are also posting results live via the internet.
We are trying to provide more race details and because of this the 12 hour race teams will be scanned at more check points. Volunteers will also be stationed at remote check points to call in times as teams come through.
These extra steps will result in a more detailed race results posting.
There are no changes for the Sprint 2 hour race teams. They will be scanned at the finish like normal. |

| Tomorrow is the Terra Firma |
Less than 24 hours before the start of this year Terra Firma! The weather should be perfect. This morning's low was in the 60's and the high should only be in the low 80's.
Latest news from the course is: Course has dried out perfect...will be fast and sweet....no more rain in forecast......slightly overcast and nice breeze.
We are going to have a fun time! |

| Terra Firma race weather conditions |
I was at the Rocky Hill course on the 5th and it was beautiful. It started raining about 3pm and things got slick. But we had a very enjoyable ride.
We had substantial rain last weekend (thank you very much), and have had several days of drying.
The course should be firm and dry with very little water in the creeks.
We have had cool mornings and warm days. So I believe the extreme heat of the summer is over. I would expect the race start temperature to be a cool 70 and by sprint race finish time the temperature should be in the mid 80s.

| Terra Firma race |
We will have a large screen TV for displaying race results. As teams cross the finish line they will be able to see what position they placed.
We are also testing the posting of race results live. Folks at home will be able to see team results from the comfort of the livingroom.
For the first 3 hours, or until the 2 hour Sprint Adventure race is complete, we will post the Sprint Adventure team race results. After that race has finished we will switch over to start posting the 12 hour Adventure race results.
As always this will be a commercial free feed for your viewing pleasure!
